The EU-funded SSHOC (Social Sciences and Humanities Open Cloud) project aims to encourage secure environments for sharing and using sensitive and confidential data. The project contributes to the European Open Science agenda and the realisation of the European Open Science Cloud (EOSC).
GWDG participates in Task 5.2, which analysed the needs of three European research infrastructure consortia of the relevant scientific domains regarding to an open source research data repository software called Dataverse.
The participants developed new features including handling of metadata schemas used in the domain, handling remote subject indexing vocabularies, interoperability with external tools, improving API calls and documentation, and improving Docker support, and preparing a software-as-a-service solution, among others. GWDG also contributed to set up the SSHOC Open Marketplace to support researchers at every step of the research data lifecycle, pooling and harmonising tools and services, datasets, training materials, workflows and publications and makes them available in a discovery portal as “contextualised solutions” to research problems.
SSHOC unites about 20 partner organisations and 27 associates. The complete list can be found on the SSHOC Webpage.
