Several German universities, including the University of Göttingen / GWDG, are jointly hosting the IT Security Awareness Days for the eleventh time from April 27 to May 8, 2026. This inter-university public online event series features engaging presentations on the topic of information security. Registration is not required. Details about the event can be found here.
Recently, there have been reports in the news about possible hacker attacks on universities and clinics. In principle, the University of Göttingen and University Medical Center Göttingen (UMG) as well as the GWDG are also at risk. However, we have taken appropriate precautions to deal with the current threats. Current information on the IT security situation and general IT security advices for all users can be found on a website, which is updated as required.
